I must admit that so far this is one of the best summers of my life. I have a job that I love (even though I come away covered in battle scars--burns, blisters, cuts, etc) and in which I make a ton of money; I am living with wonderful, laid-back people who let me do whatever I want; I have lots of friends nearby who are always eager to hang out; and I have enough time to read all the books on my list...well, almost all.
Last Sunday, I went with the Gismondis to Le Cafe de Paris for breakfast, to church with them, and then to see Love Me If You Dare--a new French movie at the Flicks. It's a fantastic movie, especially if you like Romeo-and-Juliet-type stories and French, which I do, although I must warn that it involves people being buried in cement. 0 comments

One Night Only...
I watched the Tony's the other night. I believe that it is the first awards show that I have ever watched all the way through. The performances were by far the best part, especially those by Hugh Jackman--that and the moment when he called Sarah Jessica Parker up on stage with him to dance. All in all, the show made me long for a few extra hundred dollars to fly to New York for a few days and take in some musicals. I really want to see Wicked, having read the book it was based on. And I think Caroline, Or Change looks really good too, and of course I'd see anything featuring Hugh Jackman singing (or otherwise).
The Mona's going great. I still haven't tasted all the cheeses and chocolates; nor have I enjoyed my promised free meal, but every now and then I get to snitch some leftovers, and let me tell you, they are fantastic. I would eat there every night if I could afford it. Yum!

Can I just say that I hate red tape!!! I just found out last night that the online course that I took from Portland State that I thought was three credits, was actually just three quarter credits, and only TWO semester credits. Which leaves me once again missing one stinking science credit! So now I'm off to Boise State to fill out lots of lovely paperwork and pay lots of my hard-earned money, so that I can go tramp around in the desert for 36 hours in four days learning about birds of prey and earn my one lousy, stinking biology credit so that I can finally bloody graduate!

Big congratulations to my friend Steph, brand new mother of Sydney Staley. Sydney was born yesterday, and I'm sure she will resume posting on her blog as soon as she has recovered from her transition into the world.
Summer has been going great for me. It's so nice to relax, read lots and lots of books, and begin relearning to play the piano. Last night, Kandice and Christin and I enjoyed watching The Horrors of Spider Island at the Hardenbrooks, with appropriate comments from the Mystery Science Theatre folks. I also got my first sunburn of the summer yesterday, by following Tammy around outside reading The Light Princess to her while she fertilized her flowers.
The Fun Book Club has begun and is, as promised, fun. As I imagined, it's going to be a bit difficult to work with everyone's crazy summer schedules, including my own. But I foresee lots of good times ahead anyway.
Last week, I went home and had my graduation party. It was really nice to be able to see a lot of people that I haven't seen for awhile, like Pam and Jaime. And, if I do say so, we had really wonderful food: Kandice's lettuce wraps from our picnic awhile back, and vegetable pizza and carrot cake from Costco. Yum!
The big event of this week is the release of the third Harry Potter movie, which we are going to see at midnight on Thursday night. It has actually already sold out in Boise, which scared me for a moment, until I realized it was playing in Nampa as well. It would have been awful to have to wait another twelve hours after it was released to see it! 0 comments
